Jisella Dolan, chief advocacy officer for Home Instead, was recently interviewed by MarketWatch about the current labor market and the need to meet the growing home care demand.
Dolan said that Home Instead, an Honor company, is working to increase training and certifications for employees and be at the “top of the market” in wages. She also noted that the company has a goal to hire 25,000 Care Professionals in 2023, an increase of roughly 30% from last year.
“It’s an ambitious push because there’s an ambitious need,” said Dolan. “The desire to age in place, to age at home is real. The demand is there and is growing. Healthcare is moving to the home. We saw it come to life in the pandemic — home care is a crucial part of healthcare.”
